Arlington, TX – Record-breaking temperatures, snow, and crowds in Arlington, TX for All-Star weekend weren’t enough to stop TMS, a transportation management firm, from getting rave reviews from the local police departments and NBA for their contribution to a successful weekend. TMS transported thousands of attendees, including NBA invited guests, teams and corporate partners between American Airlines Center and Cowboy’s Stadium.

ABU DHABI - Transport planners are bringing back American experts to help set up a 100-bus park-and-ride system for fans attending matches in next month’s Fifa Club World Cup.

In a bid to repeat the logistics of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the Department of Transport (DoT) is looking to use a similar system to the one used to ferry Formula One fans to and from Yas Island.

“That type of support was so effective that we want to stick with it,” a DoT source said yesterday.

This establishes TMS as a leader in the green movement as the only office building with a green roof in Montgomery County, Maryland, an affluent county in both the Washington, DC and Baltimore, MD metropolitan areas with approximately one million residents.

Those that can’t be controlled are usually services provided by suppliers, though there are options out there for show managers who look for them.

Starting at the very beginning of the process for most exhibitors is an area that often is a sticking point for shows trying to make themselves greener – freight shipping.

The combined company provides a full range of cruise services across North America. TMS’ unparalleled cruise services include all manner of ground handling (airport to cruise terminal transfers, check-in services, and pre- and post- cruise packages) as well as port agency services.

Phoenix, AZ – Transportation Management Services (TMS) and the National Basketball Association (NBA) announced today that they have successfully completed an innovative Carbon Offset Shuttle Transportation Program implemented during the 2009 NBA All-Star Game.

The TMS Carbon Offset Shuttle Transportation Program performs the crucial task of generating, managing and evaluating the on-site ground transportation sequences into a post-show analysis that calculates the number of tons of carbon emitted. During the 2009 NBA All-Star Game, TMS and their partner, Carbonfund.org calculated that 209.47 metric tons of carbon were emitted due to shuttle services. The total tons of carbon emitted in 2009 were less than previous NBA All-Star Games, as TMS ensured efficiency in all manners of bus operations and limited wasteful procedures. In the spring, TMS will also be planting more than 30 Blue Spruce trees to compliment their Carbon Offset program for the 2009 NBA All-Star Game. Each Blue Spruce tree can convert over 600 pounds of harmful pollution into oxygen and can save more than $1,000 in storm water management, pollution and energy costs.

Washington, DC – Transportation Management Services (TMS) announced today that they have successfully implemented an innovative Carbon Offset Program that provides a negative carbon footprint from ground transportation for their entire client base in 2009.

The TMS Carbon Offset Program was officially introduced in mid-2008 for a small portion of their client base. During the initial test phase of the program TMS’ goal was to create, manage and compute the logistical on-site shuttle information and create a post show tally of the number of gallons of diesel each bus burned along with the number of numeric tons of emissions the buses emitted. Subsequent to TMS’ findings they worked closely with their partner, CarbonFund.org to “fact check” each shows assessment.

Sandy Spring, MD – Transportation Management Services (TMS) initiated a “Go Green” project in 2008 to help offset a portion of the carbon footprint it leaves on the environment. Several initiatives have begun, including planting a tree for every 20 bus days that TMS operates. Over 300 trees have been planted through this program in 2008 so far. “We think this program has been wildly successful and we look forward to planting many more trees in 2009. It is a visual way for our employees and clients to see how committed we are to enriching our planet”, Kevin O’Connor, Chief Operating Officer, comments.
